Dear Border Church Family,

This week we are in our regular venue at the CWA Hall at 169 Griffith Street, Coolangatta. Parking is available on Griffith and Boundary streets and Marine Pde.

Border Church this week

This week we are going to move on from Bible marking in our discipleship segment as we pivot towards a new season in the New Year focused on prayer and witnessing. This week we will have a testimony training led out by John Fenwick.

Christmas has come a week early as we have Dr. Philip Rodionoff joining us this week for our main study. Dr. Rodionoff has conducted evangelistic series in Ukraine and has a passion for the Bible. He and his daughter blessed us earlier this year and we are thankful for his joining us again to share more reasons we can have a solid faith in the Bible.

As with every week we will be having a healthy vegetarian lunch. Please come and share a meal and fellowship and if you like you can bring something to contribute. Our theme this week is nachos/haystacks.

News

We have had several weeks of combined programing and I must say that God is really moving in our wider community. Walls are coming down and a mission and worship focus is really coming together. After this first session we counted all the Churches represented and there were people from 12 different Churches and We have another combined worship service this coming Sunday afternoon-evening, see below.

This week Alina and I attended the end-of-year Christmas party thrown by the CWA ladies. We had some discussions on collaboration we can do with the ladies there, including potential to run joint Healthy Cooking classes. We also got to meet Karen Andrews, the Federal Member for McPherson and shared about what we do at Border Church and the growing unity of mission among the Churches in the region. The CWA would welcome any of our members who wished to join their association. It is a great way to grow our influence in the community. Please let me know if you are interested in this.

This weekend

This Sunday evening, December 18, at 5pm NSW time there is going to be another combined praise and worship session with various Churches coming together in the Tweed. The venue will again be at St Joseph's in the location that Kingdom Life meets in. Please come and join us as we worship together in unity!

Coming soon!

Next week, I will be continuing our holiday series on John 3:16. This is proving to be incredibly relevant to the Christmas season and we have been seeing some deep insights into this well-known verse. This week's study is "He Gave..." If you missed last week's, you can find it uploaded at the link below:

As next week's service is Christmas Eve, we will be having a special lunch where you can bring your favourite dishes to share. Please join us as we have our Church family Christmas lunch.

During this holiday season, if you are travelling please be safe on the roads. Our prayers are going up for everyone who is travelling. If anyone is not going to have anywhere to celebrate Christmas or wishes to open their home to someone this Christmas for a fellowship meal please let us know.

I just met with Pastors Rob and Brenda Stuttle from Living Waters and Gavin and Katrina Irvine from Kingdom Life to plan out the quarterly combined services for next year. We are going to be hosting the next one at Border Church in February 18 and we are praying that even more Churches join next time.
