Dear Border Church Family,

For shaded parking you can park under Twin Towns. We will be meeting at 9:30am QLD/10:30am NSW and look forward to spending time with you.

Border Church this Week

This week we continue our new series on the letters to the Thessalonians called "Upending the Upside Down". This week we look at the context and first chapter of 2 Thessalonians. Our theme is "made worthy" - what does God's agape love invest in us?

We always have a healthy vegetarian fellowship lunch after Church. We will be having Asian-themed food this week. We would love you to join us for this time of fellowship. Our lunch schedule can be found here - https://border.church/pages/church-luncheons-roster

This Weekend

Today is the World Day of Prayer and people are meeting in various locations across the world to pray together. This year, local locations include:

  • St Anthony's Catholic Church, Kingscliff - 10am NSW
  • St Paul's Anglican Church, Palm Beach - 9am QLD

The combined churches Epic Youth is now back on Fridays at 5:30-7:30pm NSW Time. The flyer for the coming term can be found below. Please share with any young people who might like to attend. The location is at the Tweed Presbyterian Hall on the corner of Wharf and Florence streets, Tweed Heads.

Bible Discovery Groups

For 2024, make it a resolution to begin or to join at least one Discovery Bible Reading Group. They are super simple to do and a great way to learn in community with others, especially those new to the Bible. You can get something out of this no matter what level you are at. We would love to show you how to lead one of these groups simply. Please let us know if you would like to start one.

News and Upcoming Events

Our songbooks are completed and we have them ready tomorrow.

Season 2 of Sealed & Revealed has begun with dual sessions on Mondays at 7:30pm NSW and Wednesdays at 6:30pm NSW. Times for these two sessions can be found in the flyer below. In this series we will look at the New Testament interpretation of apocalyptic prophecies (minus the book of Revelation) to explore how the Apostles projected forward their expectations of the end times.

On Wednesday March 13 at 7pm NSW time, there is a combined churches prayer and worship night at The Gathering. This is one of our first community events ahead of the Will Graham Lookup Celebration in June.

Easter United is on once again Sunday, March 31 from 2:30-8pm at the Broadwater Parklands in Southport. There is a real need for volunteers for this event and you can sign up through the QR Code in the video below or on the following website - https://www.easterunited.com.au/

(P.S. Tommy Veirya in the video below works for Convoy of Hope and was the one who helped us out with hampers for people in our community this Christmas.)

In April, for three Saturdays we will be handing our Church service over to trainers from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association who will be running a Christian Life and Witness Course. This three week discipleship course will fortify your faith and empower you to invite your loved ones to know Jesus. This week we have partnered with Vibe Church to run these three weeks of classes at their venue at 3 Beryl Street, Tweed Heads

We are also co-hosting the National Day of Prayer once again this year with Vibe Church. on Saturday, May 18, at the Vibe Church venue at 3 Beryl Street, Tweed Heads we will be joined by other local Churches as we spend the day in prayer and praise. Different Churches will be hosting each hour from 10am-4pm.
