Dear Border Church Family,
This week we will be having Church in our regular venue at the QCWA Hall at 169 Griffith Street, Coolangatta. Parking can be found on Griffith and Boundary Streets as well as on Marine Parade. For shaded parking you can park under Twin Towns. We will be meeting at 10am and look forward to spending time with you.
This week we conclude our series, "What the Hell: The Nine Sermons", looking at life, death and the afterlife. In this finale we will explore what the Bible says about the fate of the wicked. Last time we looked at the resurrection of the redeemed at the second coming and the resurrection of the lost at the end of the millennium. This week we turn to look at the second death and the lake of fire and what it looks like. Are the lost going to be tortured forever or will they be consumed? Do atheists and agnostics have a point when they highlight the discrepancy of a God of love who would consign billions to an eternity of suffering for a single lifetime of sin? We will look at the expressions in Scripture that seem to indicate a never-ending torment and find that they are not so conclusive as they seem. Join us as we vindicate the character of God in the final judgement!
Kids/Youth Church will be running for the time that the service is on, directly after the worship.
We always have a healthy plant-based fellowship lunch after Church. This week we are having Indian themed food. We would love you to join us for this time of fellowship. Our lunch schedule can be found here - https://border.church/pages/church-luncheons-roster
Border Youth will be taking a break tonight but will be back on next week.
This was a week of weddings as on Thursday two of our Border Church families celebrated loved ones tying the knot. Kerryn and Adrian Greenwood welcomed Lilly into their family as she wed their son Deklan at a private ceremony. At the same time, Brendan's baby sister Kelsey was wed to Glenn "Wookie" Sheather at Cedar Creek Lodges with Brendan officiating.
Save the Date! August 10 at Border Church we have a special guest speaker, our good friend Graham Hood will be bringing us a special message and update on the cause of freedom in our country.
We are preparing for our Sowing Season in the community and should have a timetable of offerings we will be making for the community for the month of September. Twice a year at Border Church we suspend our regular programming to serve our community during our weekly meetings. Service is the highest form of worship and so we look forward to connecting with the needs of our community this September.
You can contribute towards our community outreach in our tithes and offerings box or online through various options on our website at https://border.church/give

Sealed & Revealed
Season 2 of Sealed & Revealed has begun with a Zoom session on Wednesdays at 6pm. In this series we will look at the New Testament interpretation of apocalyptic prophecies (minus the book of Revelation) to explore how the Apostles projected forward their expectations of the end times.
If you would like to catch up on previous studies in this series, recorded sessions can be found on the secret YouTube playlist here:
For 2024, make it a resolution to begin or to join at least one Discovery Bible Reading Group. They are super simple to do and a great way to learn in community with others, especially those new to the Bible. You can get something out of this no matter what level you are at. We would love to show you how to lead one of these groups simply. Please let us know if you would like to start one.
Other worship opportunities
We run Alpha small groups on a regular basis and if you would like help hosting one for your friends or loved ones to discover Jesus and the basics of the Bible, please let us know.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday at 10am.
Blessings
love
Brendan, Alina, Victor and Erina
