Dear Border Church Family,

This week we will be having Church in our regular venue at the QCWA Hall at 169 Griffith Street, Coolangatta. Parking can be found on Griffith and Boundary Streets as well as on Marine Parade. For shaded parking you can park under Twin Towns.  We will be meeting at 10am and look forward to spending time with you.

Border Church this Week

This week we continue our series, "What the Hell: The Nine Sermons", looking at life, death and the afterlife. In this penultimate sermon we will explore the Biblical teaching of resurrection. While last time we explored the resurrection of Jesus, this week we look at the resurrections of both the redeemed and the lost. We will discover that one of the most integral teachings of the Bible has been buried under millennia of traditions that have undermined its power. We will also examine the special resurrections mentioned in the Bible. Join us for this comprehensive study of our great hope of glory!

Kids/Youth Church will be running for the time that the service is on, directly after the worship.

We always have a healthy plant-based fellowship lunch after Church. This week we are having nachos/haystacks. We would love you to join us for this time of fellowship. Our lunch schedule can be found here - https://border.church/pages/church-luncheons-roster

This Weekend

Tonight at Border Youth we are having a movie night showing the movie Priceless with a discussion afterwards. Border Youth movie nights are from 5:30-8pm.

The combined churches Epic Youth is not on for the next couple of weeks during term break. We will include the new flyer when it is available.

Sunday night is the combined Churches of Murwillumbah monthly service. This month it is held at the Murwillumbah Baptist Church, 10 Eveleigh Street. See you there 6-7pm.

News and Upcoming Events

Last week over 4600 people came together from across Brisbane, Logan, Gold Coast and the Tweed for a proclamation of the Gospel at the Will Graham lookup celebration. Well over 300 people came forward to give their lives to Jesus at the call and we praise God for the growth of the Kingdom.

We are going to start an Alpha Course for new believers in July. If you or someone you know might be interested in learning the very basics of Christianity, please register your interest on 0421 074 460.

Save the Date! August 10 at Border Church we have a special guest speaker, our good friend Graham Hood will be bringing us a special message and update on the cause of freedom in our country.

We are preparing for our Sowing Season in the community and should have a timetable of offerings we will be making for the community for the month of September. Twice a year at Border Church we suspend our regular programming to serve our community during our weekly meetings. Service is the highest form of worship and so we look forward to connecting with the needs of our community this September.

Wednesday Prayer Meeting

Prayer meetings are on Wednesdays at 3pm at 179 Botanical Circuit, Banora Point. Please message me or speak to Lorraine if you have any prayer requests we can add to our list. All are welcome to join as we pray for our community and upcoming projects.

Sealed & Revealed

Season 2 of Sealed & Revealed has begun with a Zoom session on Wednesdays at 6pm. In this series we will look at the New Testament interpretation of apocalyptic prophecies (minus the book of Revelation) to explore how the Apostles projected forward their expectations of the end times.

If you would like to catch up on previous studies in this series, recorded sessions can be found on the secret YouTube playlist here:

Bible Discovery Groups

For 2024, make it a resolution to begin or to join at least one Discovery Bible Reading Group. They are super simple to do and a great way to learn in community with others, especially those new to the Bible. You can get something out of this no matter what level you are at. We would love to show you how to lead one of these groups simply. Please let us know if you would like to start one.

Other worship opportunities

We run Alpha small groups on a regular basis and if you would like help hosting one for your friends or loved ones to discover Jesus and the basics of the Bible, please let us know.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday at 10am

Blessings
