Dear Border Church Family,
This week due to Cooly Rocks we will be having Church at our alternate venue - Vibe Church, 3 Beryl Street, Tweed Heads. Parking can be found on Beryl Street and in the car park off Empire Lane. We will be meeting at 10am NSW and look forward to spending time with you.
This week we continue our new series, "What the Hell: The Nine Sermons", looking at life, death and the afterlife. In this fifth sermon we will explore some passages which are often taken as indicating a conscious intermediate state between death and the resurrection. What did Paul mean when he wrote "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord"? What did Paul mean when he said he wished to "depart and be with the Lord"? What does it mean when Revelation speaks of "souls under the altar" crying out? Do these few statements undo all we discovered in the wider Biblical picture where death is viewed as a sleep in which the dead have no thoughts and cannot praise God? Join us as we explore these passages in their context and seek the Biblical harmony.
Kids/Youth Church will be running for the time that the service is on, directly after the worship.
We always have a healthy plant-based fellowship lunch after Church. This week we are having Poke Bowls and Soups. We would love you to join us for this time of fellowship. Our lunch schedule can be found here - https://border.church/pages/church-luncheons-roster
Tonight at Border Youth we are having a movie night with Popcorn! Our movie tonight is "Hell and Mr Fudge" themed around our current preaching topic. We will begin at 5:30pm and finish at 8pm to allow time for the movie.
The combined churches Epic Youth is back on tonight for our younger kids. This term's flyer can be found below. Please share with any young people who might like to attend. The location is at the Tweed Presbyterian Hall on the corner of Wharf and Florence streets, Tweed Heads.
On June 29 we will not be holding Church in the morning, though we will stream a message online for those who join us for worship each week. Instead, we will be focusing our efforts on attending and bringing friends to the Will Graham Lookup Celebration in the evening.
We are going to start an Alpha Course for new believers in early July, immediately after the Will Graham Lookup Celebration. If you or someone you know might be interested in learning the very basics of Christianity, please register your interest on 0421 074 460.

Season 2 of Sealed & Revealed has begun with a Zoom session on Wednesdays at 6pm. In this series we will look at the New Testament interpretation of apocalyptic prophecies (minus the book of Revelation) to explore how the Apostles projected forward their expectations of the end times.

For 2024, make it a resolution to begin or to join at least one Discovery Bible Reading Group. They are super simple to do and a great way to learn in community with others, especially those new to the Bible. You can get something out of this no matter what level you are at. We would love to show you how to lead one of these groups simply. Please let us know if you would like to start one.
Other worship opportunities
We run Alpha small groups on a regular basis and if you would like help hosting one for your friends or loved ones to discover Jesus and the basics of the Bible, please let us know.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday at 10am.
Blessings
love
Brendan, Alina, Victor and Erina
