Dear Border Church Family,

This week we will be having Church in our regular venue at the QCWA Hall at 169 Griffith Street, Coolangatta. Parking can be found on Griffith and Boundary Streets as well as on Marine Parade. For shaded parking you can park under Twin Towns.  We will be meeting at 10am and look forward to spending time with you.

Border Church this Week

This week we have something very special. We have a guest speaker, Jackie Ward, an acclaimed singer/songwriter. God has put a message on her heart about God's character of love.

Jacqueline Ward is a classical soprano and award-winning songwriter. While performing as a recitalist and with orchestras and choirs, Jacqueline continues her creative output through contemporary song. She gains inspiration from life experiences, nature, and her faith. Jacqueline is a winner of the Australian Songwriting Contest and released her debut studio album ‘Jackie Ward’ in 2016. Originally from Queensland, Jacqueline now lives in Tasmania with her husband and young son.

Kids Church will be running for the time that the service is on, directly after the worship.

We always have a healthy vegetarian fellowship lunch after Church. Our theme this week is Asian cuisine. We would love you to join us for this time of fellowship. Our lunch schedule can be found here - https://border.church/pages/church-luncheons-roster

In the afternoon, we have a special concert with Jackie Ward.

This Weekend

The combined churches Epic Youth is on pause for the next few weeks and will be back on May 10. Next term's flyer can be found below. Please share with any young people who might like to attend. The location is at the Tweed Presbyterian Hall on the corner of Wharf and Florence streets, Tweed Heads.

Bible Discovery Groups

For 2024, make it a resolution to begin or to join at least one Discovery Bible Reading Group. They are super simple to do and a great way to learn in community with others, especially those new to the Bible. You can get something out of this no matter what level you are at. We would love to show you how to lead one of these groups simply. Please let us know if you would like to start one.

News and Upcoming Events

It was amazing to have so many of our Border Church family at Murwillumbah Showgrounds for the Combined Churches Funday. Thank you to each one of you who came and served. It was a huge blessing for the community and we ran out of our kites within an hour for our ground stall, but the Pinnacle of Terror was by far one of the biggest hits of the day. A huge thank you to Daniel Cinzio and his Beyond Barriers ministry for joining us to make this happen. Even though the rest of the stalls closed up by 3:30pm, we made sure everyone in the line got a turn and didn't start packing up until 6pm!

Starting next week we have a new series exploring the nature of humanity, the afterlife and eternal destiny. This series will run from May to July with a few interruptions in-between for various functions that are happening in the middle.

We are co-hosting the National Day of Prayer once again this year with Vibe Church. on Saturday, May 18, at the Vibe Church venue at 3 Beryl Street, Tweed Heads we will be joined by other local Churches as we spend the day in prayer and praise. Different Churches will be hosting each hour from 10am-4pm.
