Dear Border Church Family,

This week we are in our regular venue at the CWA Hall at 169 Griffith Street, Coolangatta (next to the Pink Hotel). Parking is available on Griffith and Boundary streets and Marine Pde. There is also parking under or next to Twin Towns if it is really busy on the street.

Border Church this week

This week in our discipleship segment we are going to start getting into practical pointers for disciple-making. This is where the rubber hits the road. We are going to jump right into it and we will need to start on time, so please aim to be there at 10:30am NSW, 9:30am QLD.

Our series on "Prayers of Power: Unlocking Omnipotence" continues this week with a look at Pre-Flood Prayers and Pray-ers. If you have any favourite prayers from the Bible, please let us know and we will consider them for this series. You can watch the previous studies in this series on the link below.

We always have a healthy vegetarian fellowship lunch after Church. This week we will be having Poke Bowls. Bring some food for yourself and enough to share. We look forward to spending this family time with you.

This Weekend

On Sunday afternoon our friends at Kingdom Life and Living Waters Churches are jointly hosting Lyle Shelton, National Director of the Family First Party, at Kingdom Life regular location at St Joseph’s College, 2 Doyle St Banora Point. This will start at 4pm NSW time.

News and Upcoming events

This coming week, Alina and I are going to be very busy with final packing, cleaning and moving to our new place in Banora Point as we need to finish this move by next Friday. Please keep us in prayer for this. All Bible studies for this week will be postponed as we move to our new manse.

If you haven't caught the podcast I was a part of on Juice 107.3 you can find it at the link below if you missed it on the radio. Jim Raistrick from Southport Anglican and Marshal Gray from Gold Coast Chapel and I discussed denominational differences together.

We have just received 2000 bookmarks we have designed with prompts on how to have your own Discovery Bible Reading group and how to pray conversationally. If you would like to get some of these, please let us know and we will send them to you if you live too far away to pick them up.

On February 18th we will be hosting a combined Churches service with Living Waters Church, Kingdom Life Church and King Jesus Church and any other Churches that would like to participate. Naomi from King Jesus Church will be preaching and I am so excited to hear what she has to share.

Friday March 3 is the World Day of Prayer. We will be again joining King Jesus as they have a prayer and praise meeting in the evening. Additional events will be updated in the coming weeks.

Regular programing

If you or anyone you know would like to start a Discovery Bible Reading group, we would be happy to equip and support you in this. We will be teaching how to do these from this week. It really is very simple.

We run I AM small groups on a regular basis and if you would like help hosting one for your friends or loved ones to discover Jesus and the basics of the Bible, please let us know.

Prayer meetings are on Wednesdays at 2:30pm QLD/3:30pm NSW at 179 Botanical Circuit, Banora Point. Please message me or speak to Lorraine if you have any prayer requests we can add to our list. You can join this prayer meeting through zoom with the link - https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81584149095. All are welcome to join as we pray for our community and upcoming projects.

You can contribute towards our community outreach in our tithes and offerings box or online through various options on our website at https://border.church/give

If you would like to give to our building upgrade fund, please mark your offering for this purpose. We will be sharing in some of the costs of upgrading the CWA hall so that we can have some dedicated storage for Border Church as well as insulation to reduce some of the noise and echo in the hall.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday at 9:30am QLD and 10:30am NSW.

Blessings
love
Brendan, Alina and Victor + Bump.
