Border News - 2023, Week 5
Dear Border Church Family,
This week we are meeting in the park at Jack Evans Boat Harbour behind Twin Towns. There is ample parking alongside Coral Street and in the park across the road.
Border Church this week
For our park services we will be featuring testimonies in lieu of our discipleship segment. This week we will hear testimonies from Lorraine Russell and I just know we are going to be in for a treat.
Our new series on "Prayers of Power: Unlocking Omnipotence" continues this week with a look at Jesus' other teachings on prayer. If you have any favourite prayers from the Bible, please let us know and we will consider them for this series. You can watch the previous studies in this series on the link below.
We always have a healthy vegetarian fellowship lunch after Church. This week we will be BYO pot luck. Bring some food for yourself and enough to share. We look forward to spending this family time with you.
This Weekend
Tonight, Friday 3 of February we are joining King Jesus for a praise and prayer session at 6:30pm-7:30pm Qld time at the Tugun Community Centre. I hope to see some of you there.
News and Upcoming events
The podcast on Juice 107.3 went live last Sunday and you can find it at the link below if you missed it on the radio. Jim Raistrick from Southport Anglican and Marshal Gray from Gold Coast Chapel and I discussed denominational differences together.
We have just received 2000 bookmarks we have designed with prompts on how to have your own Discovery Bible Reading group and how to pray conversationally. If you would like to get some of these, please let us know and we will send them to you if you live too far away to pick them up.
Update: Due to the uncooperative nature of our second child , who refused to move to a position that would determine their sex, we will have to wait for the next ultrasound and will delay the gender reveal until March. We will keep you posted on this.
On February 18th we will be hosting a combined Churches service with Living Waters Church, Kingdom Life Church and King Jesus Church and any other Churches that would like to participate. Naomi from King Jesus Church will be preaching and I am so excited to hear what she has to share.
Friday March 3 is the World Day of Prayer. We will be again joining King Jesus as they have a prayer and praise meeting in the evening.
Regular programing
If you or anyone you know would like to start a Discovery Bible Reading group, we would be happy to equip and support you in this. We will be teaching how to do these from this week. It really is very simple.
We run I AM small groups on a regular basis and if you would like help hosting one for your friends or loved ones to discover Jesus and the basics of the Bible, please let us know.
Prayer meetings are on Wednesdays at 2:30pm QLD/3:30pm NSW at 179 Botanical Circuit, Banora Point. Please message me or speak to Lorraine if you have any prayer requests we can add to our list. If you would like to give to our building upgrade fund, please mark your offering for this purpose. We will be sharing in some of the costs of upgrading the CWA hall so that we can have some dedicated storage for Border Church as well as insulation to reduce some of the noise and echo in the hall.
