Border Church this Week

This week we start a new series called "Enchanted by the Go-Spell". We will begin to set forth practical steps for us to "Go" in our community. Our introduction to this series is "You Can't Spell God without Go".

This week we are having Cafe-Style Church. We always have a healthy vegetarian fellowship lunch after Church. We will be having soups and stews this week! Our lunch schedule can be found here - https://border.church/pages/church-luncheons-roster

As it is Father's Day we will also have a special prayer of commissioning for the dads and father figures in our Church Family and wider community.

This Weekend

Friday night is Epic Youth. To coincide with Father's day, it is BYO Dad or father-figure (can be a mum that wears the "dad" hat. We meet at the Tweed Presbyterian Church at the corner of Florence and Wharf streets, Tweed Heads. Start time is 5:30pm. We are combining with other Churches in the area for combined youth, grades 4-9 (older kids also welcome as leaders). Here is the term schedule below.

News

Erina has now hit 6 weeks old and is sleeping 6-8 hours at night, which is what we were praying for. This frees me to do my full amount of duties at Border Church and with the inter-Church community. I am hitting the ground running from this coming week and will be attending the GC Mayor's Prayer Breakfast on Thursday. After that, I will be meeting with organisers for next year's Will Graham Crusade as we bring the Tweed into the event. I will also record another podcast for Juice 107.3 that day, this time on the Reformation-era of the Christian Church. I will look to bring out lessons we can learn for today.

Next Saturday, September 9 we are planning to be in the park for our first time in Spring. We are going to have a big celebration of family and children and an overall fun day for all.

On Sunday, September 10 at 2:30pm we have a meeting of our vision team to plan outreach for the Spring and Summer and look forward into 2024. Stay tuned for more details.

My fifth radio podcast with Juice 107.3's 'The Punchline' will air on one of the coming Sundays. This one was on Church History from 1000 A.D-1500 AD. covering the period of the Dark Ages up to the Reformation, with lessons for the Gold Coast-Tweed in 2023. We will run classes online in two time slots. For registration please contact Brendan on 0421074460.

Timeslot 1: Mondays 7pm, beginning Monday May 15.

If you or anyone you know would like to start a Discovery Bible Reading group, we would be happy to equip and support you in this. We will be teaching how to do these from this week. It really is very simple.

We run Alpha small groups on a regular basis and if you would like help hosting one for your friends or loved ones to discover Jesus and the basics of the Bible, please let us know.
