Dear Border Church Family,
This week we will be having Church in our regular venue at the QCWA Hall at 169 Griffith Street, Coolangatta. Parking can be found on Griffith and Boundary Streets as well as on Marine Parade. For shaded parking you can park under Twin Towns. We will be meeting at 10am and look forward to spending time with you.
To conclude our news from last week, Alina and I welcomed our new baby girl, Erina Tiana Valiant into this world at 12:59 am last Friday evening. This was a very good birth and we were discharged home the same morning. We have had a full week getting to know our baby girl. We are blessed by all the prayers and support from everyone out there. Alina hopes to be at Church with Erina this week.
Border Church this week
This we are having another special guest speaker. Pastor and Evangelist, Andy McLaughlan, will be speaking on "Prepared in the Wilderness".
This week we are having Cafe-Style Church. We always have a healthy vegetarian fellowship lunch after Church. We will be having Italian-themed lunch! Our lunch schedule can be found here - https://border.church/pages/church-luncheons-roster
This Weekend
Tonight is orientation for term 3, 2023 for Epic Youth. We meet at the Tweed Presbyterian Church at the corner of Florence and Wharf streets, Tweed Heads. Start time is 5:30pm. We are combining with other Churches in the area for combined youth, grades 4-9. Here is the term schedule below.
Our sister Church King Jesus moves into their next phase this Sunday at 2pm. There are limited spots, but we encourage you to register with Pastor Naomi if you are going to attend. The worship will be livestreamed on their Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/kingjesusaustralia/
News
We have some exciting guests coming to bless us in July and August as Alina will be out of commission for a few weeks and Brendan will be taking lighter duties to help out with the baby. My lighter duties will still enable me to visit and assist any members as needed.
- Next week, August 5 we will have Organic Naturopath Monica Shepherd who will be speaking in the morning on what the Bible says about Health and Wellness and in the afternoon is going to speak about Nutrition Hacks for Physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual Abundance.
- Also in August we have our friends Jessie Skelley from the Tweed Church of Christ and Phil Coates from Murwillumbah Baptist Church.
- On August 26 we will be having Scott Devlin from Creation Ministries International speak at Border Church in the morning and afternoon. I am super excited for this event!
In August, the Pacific Coast Christian School is putting on a musical based on the works of Dr Seuss - Dr Seussical the Musical. Tickets are on sale here - https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1076229
Carly Fletcher is a Christian musician with a passion for sharing the gospel through song. She is working on her fourth studio album of original music and is over halfway towards her fundraising goal. Carly will be coming to Border Church soon to bless us with her music, and we are just looking at locking in a date. I am almost finished putting together songbooks for Border Church. If you have any favourite hymns, praise or scripture songs you would like to nominate to be in them, please let me know ASAP. Inclusion will depend on the complexity of the song and whether it fits the criteria of a worship song, but we hope to include as many favourite worship songs as possible.

Wednesday Prayer Meeting
Prayer meetings are on Wednesdays at 3pm at 179 Botanical Circuit, Banora Point. Please message me or speak to Lorraine if you have any prayer requests we can add to our list. All are welcome to join as we pray for our community and upcoming projects.
Sealed & Revealed - Heralds of the Messiah
This is a new interactive discipleship series that will run over a few months looking at prophecies pointing to the coming Messiah and showing that Jesus of Nazareth was the promised Messiah. Through key passages, we will also lay the groundwork for understanding how prophecy works, types of prophecy, and the themes, principles and methods of interpretation. Other worship opportunities
If you or anyone you know would like to start a Discovery Bible Reading group, we would be happy to equip and support you in this. We will be teaching how to do these from this week. It really is very simple.
We run Alpha small groups on a regular basis and if you would like help hosting one for your friends or loved ones to discover Jesus and the basics of the Bible, please let us know.
