Dear Border Church Family, 

This week due to Cooly Rocks, we will be fellowshipping at the Tent of Promise. This is set up and located at Chris Cunningham Park, where the war memorial is next to Twin Towns. Parking will be tricky, but we suggest trying across the road at Tweed Mall, especially the rooftop parking at the south end of the mall. If you would like a lift into Tweed please let us know and we can see if we can arrange a shuttle for some people. We will start at 10am as usual. 

This Weekend

Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings there will be evangelistic crusades going on at the Tent of Promise starting at 6pm. 

  • Friday night is a youth service with Jessie Skelley from Tweed Church of Christ leading out. 
  • Saturday night will feature local Evangelist William Dumas from the indigenous Ganggalah Church. 
  • Sunday night will feature Pastor Stephen Smith from the Hub Baptist Church at Tweed. 

Please invite people to these who you know will be in the area for Cooly Rocks. There are hourly puppet shows and viewings of the 30m Panorama of the Bible story throughout the day from 10am-4pm. 

There are also combined Church services on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Border Church is leading out on Saturday morning and we have been blessed to have Hayden Wiseman booked for this time. He will be leading out with a Gospel Violin concert. There will also be markets on surrounding the Tent of Promise on Saturday morning and this means we will have even more people who we pray will be drawn into the concert. 

Sunday morning is a combined service with Kingdom Life and Living Waters churches leading out.

Alternatively, Hayden Wiseman is also playing at two services on Sunday Morning at the Tweed Presbyterian Church at 113 Wharf Street, Tweed Heads. These services are at 9am (traditional service) and 10:45am (contemporary service).

Healthy Cooking

Starting next week on June 13 we will be launching our first Healthy Cooking class partnering with the QCWA. Please invite friends to join this program! It will run over four weeks on Tuesdays at 1pm. To register, please contact 0421 074 460.

Sealed & Revealed - Heralds of the Messiah

This is a new interactive discipleship series that will run over at least 12 weeks looking at prophecies pointing to the coming Messiah and showing that Jesus of Nazareth was the promised Messiah. Through key passages, we will also lay the groundwork for understanding how prophecy works, types of prophecy, and the themes, principles and methods of interpretation. We will run classes online in two time slots. For registration please contact Brendan on 0421074460.

Timeslot 1: Mondays 7pm, beginning Monday May 15. 

Timeslot 2: Wednesdays 6pm beginning Wednesday May 17.

English Improvement

Each Sunday until the end of June, Alina Valiant will be running a course aimed at helping speakers of English as a Second Language to improve their confidence and skill in English. This course will run for six weeks and will begin at 1pm each Sunday. To register for this course, please contact Alina at 0401 167 731. 

Depression and Anxiety Recovery Program

We are still running this, but have pushed it back to the end of June due to people not being able to start in May. More details will be out next week. 

YouTube Sermons

Since we moved to our new residence, I have been behind on uploading our sermons to YouTube each week. This is now all caught up and the current playlist can be found below. We are looking at options to simulcast our worship services on both Facebook and YouTube in the near future. 

Regular programing

If you or anyone you know would like to start a Discovery Bible Reading group, we would be happy to equip and support you in this. We will be teaching how to do these from this week. It really is very simple. 

We run Alpha small groups on a regular basis and if you would like help hosting one for your friends or loved ones to discover Jesus and the basics of the Bible, please let us know. 

Prayer meetings are on Wednesdays at 3pm at 179 Botanical Circuit, Banora Point. Please message me or speak to Lorraine if you have any prayer requests we can add to our list. If you would like to give to our building upgrade fund, please mark your offering for this purpose. We will be sharing in some of the costs of upgrading the CWA hall so that we can have some dedicated storage for Border Church as well as insulation to reduce some of the noise and echo in the hall.
