Dear Border Church Family,

This week we will be having Church in our regular venue at the QCWA Hall at 169 Griffith Street, Coolangatta. Parking can be found on Griffith and Boundary Streets as well as on Marine Parade. For shaded parking you can park under Twin Towns. We will be meeting at 9:30am QLD time/10:30am NSW time and look forward to spending time with you.

Border Church this week

This week we will look at our individual personality traits and the strengths that come with them for mission. If you haven't yet completed the Spiritual Gifts inventory, you can find it attached here - Spiritual Gifts Test

To pre-complete a personality test, you can find one here - https://www.humanmetrics.com/personality/test

This week for our message we will be continuing our series on Prayers of Power: Unlocking Omnipotence by looking at prayer in the speeches of Job. This is a raw and honest look at speaking to God in the midst of suffering. Next week we will look at the response of God.

We always have a healthy vegetarian fellowship lunch after Church. This week we will be having an Indian-themed meal.

Invitation from our hosts at QCWA

The lovely ladies at the QCWA are extending an invitation and special offer for anyone who would like to join the QCWA Coolangatta branch. Join now for an extra 3 months membership from April 1 through to next June 30, 2024. The fee is only $40 with the Coolangatta branch subsidising the balance of the $77 fee. Membership offers opportunity for networking and meeting new people in our area and getting involved in community projects. We will be partnering with the CWA for things such as cooking classes in the near future, so it would be great if any of you would like to join them. You can find the sign up sheet attached here - QCWA Membership Form.

Welcome Baby Zale

On Thursday, Guy, Heather, Bronte and Alia welcomed baby Zale into the world. Many blessings to your family with this new addition.

Sowing Season: Autumn 2023

After Easter, we will be launching our first Sowing Season. Every Autumn and Spring we will have seasons of sowing into the community. For our first season, we will be running an Alpha Course, Car Basics, ESL (English as a Second Language) Essentials, Healthy Cooking, Depression and Anxiety Recovery and Sewing Alterations short courses. These will be opportunities for meeting people in the community and growing relationships with them. Please get involved with supporting one or more of these offerings through attendance, inviting people to attend and helping out. We will begin advertising this from next week.

Regular programing

If you or anyone you know would like to start a Discovery Bible Reading group, we would be happy to equip and support you in this. We will be teaching how to do these from this week. It really is very simple.

We run I AM small groups on a regular basis and if you would like help hosting one for your friends or loved ones to discover Jesus and the basics of the Bible, please let us know.

Prayer meetings are on Wednesdays at 2:30pm QLD/3:30pm NSW at 179 Botanical Circuit, Banora Point. Please message me or speak to Lorraine if you have any prayer requests we can add to our list. You can join this prayer meeting through zoom with the link - https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81584149095. All are welcome to join as we pray for our community and upcoming projects.

You can contribute towards our community outreach in our tithes and offerings box or online through various options on our website at https://border.church/give

If you would like to give to our building upgrade fund, please mark your offering for this purpose. We will be sharing in some of the costs of upgrading the CWA hall so that we can have some dedicated storage for Border Church as well as insulation to reduce some of the noise and echo in the hall.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday at 9:30am QLD and 10:30am NSW.

Blessings
love
Brendan, Alina and Victor + Bump.
